MyBioDefense Sanitizing Timer calculates suggested UV-C exposure time to achieve 90%, 99% or 99.9% sterilizing for a variety of bacteria, viruses and molds selected from its database. Touching 'start' displays a countdown timer showing how long the to hold the wand near the surface being sanitized. When used with a MyBioDefense UV-C Portable Sanitizing Wand the app is configured automatically. If you have a different UV-C device you enter its lamp power at startup so correct times are calculated for that device. App has a database of illness and symptoms that can be caused by certain types of bacteria, virus or mold. After choosing a symptom the app suggests how many seconds of UV-C exposure should achieve 90%, 99% or 99.9% sanitizing. The countdown timer plays a sound after each sanitizing interval completes and can be set to automatically repeat. The suggested times and maladies are not to be used in place of medical advice and is advisory only. MyBioDefense and FortuneCompass LLC make no medical claims. Sanitizing times suggested are based on laboratory data from NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information), data from the IUVA (International Ultraviolet Association) and NIH National Institute for Health.
